high ticket affiliate programs

High-ticket affiliate programs are one of the best ways to turn your blog into a money-making machine. With pricey offerings and high commission rates, these affiliate programs allow bloggers to earn a generous income, without needing a high volume of sales.

In this article, I walk you through everything you need to know about what a high-ticket affiliate program is, how they work, how to effectively promote them, and lastly provide you with a comprehensive list of high-ticket affiliate programs for you to join, across a range of niches.

We’ve been in the affiliate marketing business for quite a while. For the past 5 years, affiliate marketing has been our bread and butter, our main source of revenue from our travel blog, Adventure in You.

Tired of making $20 here and $13 there, we wanted to find a way to earn a decent monthly income with affiliate marketing instead of sporadic tens and twenties each month.

This is how I discovered high-ticket affiliate programs.

By integrating these programs onto our blog and introducing them to our audience in a strategic way, we were able to take our monthly income for specific affiliates from a measly $50 to more than $1,500, just with a few high-priced sales.

High-ticket affiliate programs give you a good chance to skyrocket your blogging income. With the right program and a few sales, you can easily make several thousand dollars every single month.

If you want to learn how to do this with your own blog, keep reading to find out how!

What is a High-Ticket Affiliate Program?

A high-ticket affiliate program is an agreement where bloggers promote a high-value product or service on their blog in exchange for a large commission.

This is slightly different from traditional affiliate marketing as the product or service is much more expensive. High ticket products start at $100 (and can get into the thousands) and commissions are at least $50 or more.

person counting money over a notebook

There’s a difference between recommending a backpack on Amazon and a full luxury getaway. When promoting the first, you’re likely to earn anything from $3 to $5 per sale. With the latter, you can earn anything from $150 onwards. So even if only a few people purchase a high-ticket item through your trackable link, you can be making hundreds of dollars in commissions!

With this level of commissions, this means the blogger has to create more marketing efforts around the product or service to justify the price and the commission.

Promoting these expensive products requires trust with your readers which you can build by writing strategic content that solves their problems. When you do this well, high-ticket affiliate programs can bring in hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars each month.

Overall, high-ticket affiliates require leveled-up strategic content, increased trust, and authority to be effective… and they have a much higher return.

Like with regular affiliate programs, you can find high-ticket affiliate programs in a huge range of niches. From software and tech to travel and lifestyle, there are plenty of high-ticket affiliates to sign up for as bloggers.

When it comes to looking for high-ticket affiliate programs, keep in mind the same considerations you would for general affiliate programs.

Commission Structure

How much is the commission rate? Is it a percentage or portion of sale? Keep your eyes out for recurring commissions with high-ticket affiliates, which payout each month if someone purchases a subscription service.

Cookie Length

How long do the cookies last for each program? Especially in the case of high-ticket affiliates, the longer the cookie length, the better.

Since high-ticket affiliates tend to be more expensive than regular products, people may need time to consider before purchasing. The best high-ticket affiliates have a long cookie length, allowing people to take their time before buying while still ensuring you can earn a commission.

With this in mind, let’s talk about how to promote a high-ticket affiliate on any kind of blog.

How to Effectively Promote a High-Ticket Affiliate

While integrating high-ticket affiliates into a blog is similar to general affiliate marketing, you may find it worthwhile to promote high-ticket programs to a greater degree than you would with general programs.

If you have a solid strategy surrounding the promotion of high-ticket affiliates, you increase your chances of securing those generous commissions and delivering value to your audience through various high-ticket products.

Create a Landing Page for High-Ticket Affiliates

One thing that really helped to increase our own high-ticket affiliate conversions was creating a dedicated landing page for the affiliate program.

When we were working to increase our Liveaboard diving commissions, we actually created a jumbo standalone page that covered everything related to Liveaboards and diving in general.

Putting all of the information on one page made it ultra-accessible to readers and easy to link out from, which leads me to our second point.

Write In-Depth Content Around the Affiliate Program

Our landing page for Liveaboard actually links out to dozens of articles about Liveaboard diving.

Rather than just mentioning it in a single article, we created a full content series featuring the high-ticket affiliate, with a combination of inspirational, navigational, and transactional articles.

Our articles cover topics like best Liveaboard destinations, ultimate diving spots, and reviews of actual Liveaboard trips that readers can book.

Doing this lays out all the options so that your audience doesn’t have to go hunting for information… it’s right there in one place – your blog!

When you join a particular high-ticket affiliate program, think about all articles that you can write surrounding the topic. You can get creative with it!

Whether it’s to introduce your readers to the affiliate in general, explore all the options that are available, or just provide inspiration on the topic, this is one of the best ways to integrate a high-ticket affiliate into your blog.

Optimize Articles Using CRO Techniques

In order to effectively promote high-ticket affiliates, use CRO (or conversion rate optimization) techniques to improve your sales. This is the process of increasing conversions on your blog so that it’s irresistible for readers to click on your links to high-ticket affiliate products.

Instead of just making use of in-text links, add bright CTAs, comparison tables, or pros-and-cons charts.

In all of our Liveaboard review articles, we have:

  • In-text links
  • Bright yellow buttons
  • Linked images
  • An in-depth comparison table
  • A Liveaboard booking widget

I know it might seem like a lot but when integrated naturally, it makes a huge difference in terms of conversions, as readers simply can’t skip over the high-ticket affiliate.

Use Email Marketing To Increase Conversions

Besides just the content we have on our blog, we actually promote our high-ticket affiliates through email marketing.

It starts by presenting a “value gift” (aka a lead magnet) with related content to readers.

Going back to the Liveaboard example, we designed an ebook full of the best diving destinations in the world and created an opt-in form for it on each of our Liveaboard articles.

Readers then hand over their email in exchange for a download of the ebook, which adds them as subscribers to our email list.

Once they’re added to our email list in the Liveaboard segment (which happens automatically from the opt-in), they receive a targeted value series over the next weeks about scuba diving and Liveaboard trips… right to their inbox!

What this does is it sends people the content that they’re interested in via email to drive them back to our blog to make the final purchase. We provide value upfront in exchange for an email and continually provide it through our value series.

By building trust and showing our readers that we know what they’re interested in, they’re ultimately more inclined to make a purchase of a high-ticket affiliate through our blog.

Create a Product Bonus

Finally, you can offer readers a bonus when they purchase the high-ticket product or service through your link.

We did this when we were promoting blog hosting and saw awesome results. When framed as “extra motivation”, our blogging ebook freebies were relevant and useful for readers who had made the purchase.

To drive extra sales of your high-ticket affiliate, think of some product bonuses you can create to give readers the little boost they need if they’re on the fence about making a purchase.

Freebies work wonders and are totally worth creating for the final commission.

It should come as no surprise that there are loads of high-ticket affiliates that fall into the travel and lifestyle category. Flights, hotel stays, fancy dinners, and fashion can all rack up a steep price tag.

As such, affiliates in both of these niches stand to make a decent income from promoting high-ticket items surrounded by an air of luxury.

Check out these top picks for high-ticket affiliate programs for travel and lifestyle!

4% doesn’t seem like much compared to other high-ticket affiliates, but keep in mind that we’re talking luxury here. On the lower end of the spectrum, Sandals offers packages starting at $200 per person, per night, with a minimum of 3 nights.

For two people, this means at the very least a $1,200 spend which translates to $50 for the affiliate. Again, this is the minimum… just think of the earning potential here!

One of the largest ecommerce names out there, Shopfiy powers more than one million shops online and offers a huge range of products, services, and solutions.

Something that sets the Shopify affiliate program apart from others is that it’s a largely “add-on” platform. When someone signs up with Shopify, they’re likely to choose a bunch of additional services to power their shop which run on a subscription basis.

This is attractive to affiliates who are able to earn recurring commissions from each subscription purchased.

Shopify is well-known not only for their platform, but for their affiliate program in general. It is one of the highest paying programs out there, with up to $2,000 in commission each time someone is referred to (and signs up for) the Plus program.

FAQs on High-Ticket Affiliate Programs

After reading this list of high-ticket affiliate programs, you may be left with a few questions. Here’s a rundown of frequently asked questions related to high-ticket affiliates so that you can begin joining programs with confidence.

What is the best high-ticket affiliate program?

Quick Answer:

  1. Bluehost
  2. Clickfunnels
  3. Hostgator
  4. WP Engine
  5. Luxury Brands

Although there is no definitive answer to this as this highly depends on what niche you’re blogging in, the ones listed above are a quick list of some of the best high-ticket affiliate programs out there.

In general though, there is no “best” high-ticket affiliate program. Rather, it’s about finding a program that will consistently appeal and provide value to your audience, while earning you an income.

If you choose a high-ticket affiliate program that falls outside your niche or isn’t within your reader’s budgets, you’ll struggle to make money with it even if the commissions are big.

Remember, it’s all about choosing programs that can add value to your content and that you can truthfully market. These are the best high-ticket affiliate programs for your blog.

What high-ticket affiliate program can I make the most money with?

You’ll make the most money with a high-ticket affiliate program that your readers can relate to. If you readers see the value of your product or service suggestion and it applies to them directly, they’re more likely to make a purchase and earn you a commission.

When picking high-ticket affiliate programs, always remember to keep it relevant and valuable… this is ultimately how you’ll make the most money! You want to sign up for programs that will clearly benefit your audience, enticing them to make a big spend on whatever it is.

Should I only join free affiliate programs?

Yes! Affiliate programs are a symbiotic relationship, where everyone benefits. Readers get suggestions for awesome products and services, brands and companies get referral traffic and sales, and the affiliate (aka the blogger) gets a commission.

While you earn money from brands or companies, you are providing something valuable in return, in the form of new customers and increased purchases. You should never pay to market someone else’s products or services, especially with most of these types of programs being free!

How much can I expect to earn from high-ticket affiliate programs?

The amount of money you earn from high-ticket affiliates is tied to factors like your blog’s traffic and how you market your affiliate programs. The more traffic your blog gets, the more likely someone will make a purchase using your affiliate link.

This purchase likelihood increases as your marketing efforts increase, too. There are large affiliate marketing-specific blogs that can earn anything from $10,000 to $30,000 a month.

But overall, the earning potential with high-ticket affiliate programs is unlimited. You can make as much money as you like, so long as you put forth the effort and build a strategy to promote these programs.

When we first introduced high-ticket affiliate programs to Adventure in You, we struggled to maximize our earnings. But when we revamped our approach and came up with a solid strategy, we were able to increase monthly income from these high ticket affiliates by 30x.
